THE 621 CAMPAIGN: WAITING ON THE LORD THIS ADVENT
For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation.
Psalm 62:1
IT’S HARD TO WAIT
But, as the season of Advent teaches us, God doesn’t waste our waiting. That doesn’t mean, however, that it’s comfortable. One of the Hebrew words used for waiting, qavah, combines the tension of waiting with a sense of anticipation or looking ahead. The word’s origins are connected to the twisting or stretching of a cord, meaning tension is a part of waiting. Still, many of us continue to be surprised by it. So, our first step is to embrace it, welcoming it as a regular part of waiting.
We’re going to need God’s help to do that.
SO LET US PRAY.
It’s as easy as
1. Sign up for this campaign below to receive daily prayer prompts.
2. Set your alarm daily to 6:21 (AM or PM) to pray, remembering Psalm 62:1.
3. Commit to praying with us this Advent season (December 1-24).
